A hotel and apartment property in Cote d’Ivoire needed a practical solar power system to support guest rooms, public lighting, air conditioning, elevators, water pumps, security systems and daily facility operation.

The project uses rooftop solar panels across multiple building roofs, making good use of available roof space without requiring additional land. WHC Power configured the site as a 150kW rooftop solar power system with approximately 320kWh battery storage support.

The solution focuses on solar generation, system integration, backup power support and reduced diesel dependence for commercial accommodation operation.

Project Background

Hotels and apartment buildings have mixed electricity demand throughout the day and evening. Air conditioning, lighting, water pumps, elevators, communications and public areas can create continuous and sometimes high power loads.

For this type of property, unstable grid supply can affect guest comfort, front-desk operation, security systems and building management. A rooftop solar power system with battery storage support gives the customer a practical way to use solar energy while keeping backup power available for selected critical loads.

Power Supply Challenges

The customer needed a solar power structure that could support daily hotel and apartment operation while reducing pressure from grid fluctuation and diesel generator use.

Because the buildings are located in an urban commercial environment, the system needed to use rooftop space efficiently and keep the main electrical equipment centralized for easier operation and maintenance.

Another requirement was backup power support for lighting, communications, security systems, water supply equipment and selected facility loads during unstable grid periods.

WHC Power Solution

WHC Power provided a 150kW rooftop solar power system with approximately 320kWh battery storage support for the hotel and apartment property.

During the day, the rooftop solar PV system helps supply building loads and supports battery charging. When grid power is unstable or selected loads need backup support, the battery storage works with the inverter / PCS solution to maintain more reliable operation.

The system combines PV generation, inverter integration, battery matching, electrical protection and project-level configuration support for a more dependable commercial building energy structure.
