Portfolio
A commercial facility in Abuja, Nigeria needed a practical solar power system for daily business operation, office equipment, lighting, security systems, communication devices and selected backup loads.
The project combines rooftop solar generation with battery backup support, allowing the site to use more solar power during the day and maintain stronger operating reliability during grid interruptions or unstable voltage periods.
WHC Power delivered a 200kW rooftop solar power system with approx. 430kWh lithium battery backup configuration, supporting stable power supply and practical energy independence for the commercial facility.
Project Background
Commercial buildings in Abuja often need stable electricity for long daily operating hours. Office equipment, lighting, security systems, network devices and customer-facing areas can be affected when grid supply becomes unstable.
For this project, the rooftop area provided useful space for solar PV installation. By combining rooftop solar panels with battery backup support, the customer can reduce grid dependence while keeping selected loads supported during short outages.
Project Challenges
The site required a power solution that could support daytime operation, improve backup capability and reduce the pressure caused by grid fluctuation.
The system also needed to fit within the building’s available technical room, support practical maintenance access and coordinate solar generation, battery charging, inverter output and selected backup circuits.
Because the project serves a commercial facility, reliability and serviceability were more important than simply adding solar capacity.
WHC Power Solution
WHC Power supplied a 200kW rooftop solar power system with approx. 430kWh lithium battery backup configuration, hybrid inverter / PCS equipment, electrical protection devices and project-level commissioning support.
During daytime operation, the rooftop solar PV array helps power the facility and charge the battery system. When solar output changes, grid voltage becomes unstable or selected loads need backup support, the system helps provide smoother power output.
The configuration supports centralized power management and makes the system suitable for commercial buildings, office facilities, public service buildings, hotels, schools and similar C&I applications.
System Configuration
Solar Capacity: 200kW
Battery Support: approx. 430kWh lithium battery backup configuration
Inverter / PCS: 200kW hybrid inverter / PCS solution
System Type: Rooftop solar PV system with battery backup support
Application: Commercial facility power supply, lighting, office equipment and selected backup loads
Project Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Project Benefits
The system helps the commercial facility use rooftop solar power more effectively during daytime operation.
Battery backup support improves power flexibility for selected loads and helps reduce the impact of short outages, voltage fluctuation and peak-load pressure.
The project also improves energy flexibility by combining solar generation, battery backup, hybrid inverter integration and electrical protection into one coordinated power solution.
Why WHC Power
WHC Power supports commercial and industrial customers with solar power systems, hybrid inverter solutions, battery backup configuration, electrical protection design and project-level technical support.
For commercial buildings, offices, hotels, factories, public facilities and other C&I sites, WHC Power can help build practical solar power systems that improve power reliability and make better use of available rooftop resources.
