A hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria needed a practical solar power system for daily medical operation, ward lighting, office equipment, security systems, communication devices and selected backup loads.
The project combines rooftop solar generation with battery backup support, helping the hospital use more solar power during the day and maintain stronger operating reliability during grid interruptions or unstable voltage periods.

Project Background
Hospitals need dependable electricity for long operating hours and sensitive daily services. Lighting, refrigeration, communication systems, basic medical equipment, administrative offices and security devices can all be affected when grid supply becomes unstable.
For this project, available rooftop and outdoor installation areas provided useful space for solar PV deployment. By combining solar panels with battery backup support, the hospital can reduce grid dependence while keeping selected loads supported during short outages.
Project Challenges
The site required a power solution that could support daytime operation, improve backup capability and reduce the pressure caused by grid fluctuation.
The system also needed to fit within the hospital’s available technical space, support practical maintenance access and coordinate solar generation, battery charging, inverter output and selected backup circuits.
Because the project serves a medical facility, stable operation and serviceability were more important than simply increasing solar capacity.
