Portfolio
A telecom infrastructure operator in Nigeria needed a reliable solar power system for a remote communication site. The site required continuous electricity for telecom equipment, monitoring devices, lighting, cooling support and selected auxiliary loads.
WHC Power designed a 100kW commercial solar power system with approx. 215kWh energy storage support to improve daily power reliability and reduce diesel generator dependence.
The project integrates ground-mounted solar PV, energy storage support, inverter / PCS equipment, electrical protection and backup generator coordination into one practical power solution for remote infrastructure operation.

Project Background
Remote telecom sites often operate in weak-grid or off-grid environments. Power interruption can affect communication service, monitoring equipment and site security, while long-distance fuel delivery can increase operating pressure.
For this project, the available open land made a ground-mounted solar PV system suitable for daily power generation. The technical room provided space for power conversion, energy storage integration, electrical protection and system control equipment.

Project Challenges
The project needed to support stable operation for critical telecom loads while reducing the runtime of the existing diesel generator.
The customer also required a system that could handle daytime solar generation, evening power demand and backup support during grid instability. In a remote environment, the solution had to be easy to manage, practical for maintenance and suitable for long-term infrastructure use.
WHC Power Solution
WHC Power supplied a complete C&I solar power solution combining a 100kW ground-mounted solar PV system, approx. 215kWh energy storage support, inverter / PCS equipment, protection devices and project integration guidance.
During the day, the solar PV system helps supply telecom equipment and charge the energy storage system. When solar generation is lower or the grid is unstable, stored energy can support selected critical loads and reduce generator operation.
The generator remains as an additional backup layer, while the solar power system improves the site’s energy independence and reduces daily reliance on diesel power.
System Configuration
Solar Capacity: 100kW
